Lunch meeting, training, city trip or museum visit? 

With Blue-bike you can easily get from the train station to your final destination and back. Place your Blue-bike card on the card reader; the bike will be yours until you return to the station. You will love the comfortable city bike, the nationwide coverage and the easy-to-use system.

Would you like to have a bike at hand at all times? Blue-bike is celebrating its 10th birthday and you can join the party! Become a Blue-bike member between 1 July and 31 August 2021 and you pay no membership for the first year. A nice birthday gift of €12!

How does it work

How to hire

  • Order your Blue-bike card online (or at a bike point during office hours so that you can leave immediately);
  • With your Blue-bike card in your pocket, follow the signposting for the bike point in the larger SNCB stations. You will also find instructions per location on our website;
  • For locations with a key distributor: put your Blue-bike card on the card reader of the machine, or enter your voucher code and unlock your Blue-bike with the released key. You can borrow a maximum of 2 Blue-bikes at the same time. 
  • For locations with smart Blue-bikes: tap the saddle to wake the Blue-bike from its sleeping mode. You will hear some beeps. Hold your card against the card reader of the lock or scan the QR code on the handlebar of the Blue-bike. After that, the lock will open. You can borrow a maximum of 1 Blue-bike at the same time. More info about locations with smart Blue-bikes can be found here.

How to return

  • Always to the same location as where you rented it;
  • For locations with a key distributor: lock the Blue-bike in the Blue-bike rack and read the black key tag on the reader of the key distributor.
  • For locations with smart Blue-bikes: close the lock by tilting the handle and then pushing it down. The GPS signal detects that you are at your location and your ride will automatically end.

How to pay

  • You pay €12 for your membership (annual);
  • The fare varies depending on the location between €0, €1.15 or €3.15 per 24-hour trip. With a few exceptions, you pay €1.15 everywhere (24h);
  • You receive a monthly statement and payment is automatic via direct debit.
